He who can no longer listen to his brother will soon no longer be listening to God, either.

Citation: Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Leadership, Vol. 16, no. 4.

REFLECTION:

Maybe it's high time i stop thinking about myself but start reaching out to others who are just waiting for someone to tap their shoulders and say, "Kamusta ka na?" and really listen to what that other person has to say...

sometimes, if not most of the times, we tend to resort to selective listening, if you can call it so. we listen only to what we want to hear and interests us but neglect to pay attention to what we may not know is of interest to that other person...

... I guess the reason why there are people who rarely listen or resort to selective listening is because they've heard too much or they talk too much and just want to either talk or keep on talking. What do you think?

from the choices that you presented, missrye, i think it's most saddening to be bored of another's story if we think we've heard too much...i think that in every conversation, whether the same issue keeps popping up, there is something you can learn from that other person. haay :) God bless, dear :D

i have the same problem. basically, its because i tend to be self-absorbed..the i-wanna-keep-on-talking part of rye's options. i think it roots back to seldom having been listened to much as a youngest child. hehe. magpsycho-analyze and blame it all on family issues daw ba. then again, maybe i'm just self-absorbed period. i'm working on it though... hazel, miss na kita. oi, kelan ba tayo magkikita uli? :)
