To be so far away from you…We could greet each other with smiles
But did you know my heart’s beating so hard?
To be so far away from you…
We could shake hands but still
Are your eyes searching for someone somewhere?

An overwhelming sadness that chokes
The tiny joys of seeing you here, right now.
To be so far away from you…
To have no idea how you’re doing today
What makes you happy, or makes you sad.
To be so far away from you..
Struggling if you will even remember
Another name like mine, a face in the crowd.

When even a message of “I’ll miss you”
I’m not at liberty to do, not a possibility.

I could wish that I could at least
Say a decent goodbye, a hug or something of the like.

Let me cherish the few moments of happiness
And the hope that you too are filled with so much joy.

My only prayer is that GOD will truly
Keep you away from all probable harm.

Is this His way of realigning our minds?
To focus on Him, our heart’s first priority.

Holding on to a silent cry that someday
If it’s not you and me, then we’ll find our God’s best.
